Mundo a Vapor (Steam Engine Park)
Your journey through Mundo a Vapor starts with an incredible sight: a locomotive bursting through the facade, a life-size re-creation of the famous 1895 Montparnasse train accident in Paris. Welcome to one of the most impressive parks in the Serra Gaúcha!
Opened in 1991, the park takes you on a fascinating journey through time, revealing how steam engines revolutionized the world. History, technology, and entertainment come together to delight visitors of all ages.
Once inside, the magic comes to life on a route through 10 immersive, multisensory rooms. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you'll get an up-close look at working miniatures that recreate the incredible power of steam engines. Along the way, you'll discover how this technology was used in different industries, from brickworks and steel mills to power generation and farming.
But Mundo a Vapor also holds a mystery! During the guided tour, you'll be swept up in an exciting adventure to help Fuligem, the park's friendly main character. Your mission: find out why his heart is rusting and discover the cure to get it beating again.
After uncovering the secrets of the Industrial Revolution and helping Fuligem, the adventure continues outdoors. At Estação Bosque, you can hop aboard a relaxing 10-minute train ride. The steam locomotive glides gently through the Serra Gaúcha's native forest for a peaceful moment surrounded by nature.
To top it all off, head 52 meters (171 feet) up on the Ferris wheel. During a panoramic ride of about 20 minutes with 360° views of the region, you'll float alongside the araucaria trees and Canela's lush landscape, and spot one of its most famous landmarks: the Stone Cathedral.

Mundo a Vapor is open Thursday to Tuesday from 9 am to 6:30 pm. Keep in mind that the visit takes about 2 hours.
