We'll start the day after picking you up at your hotel in Tirana. From there, we'll head towards the Pogradec region. Ready to start exploring Albania's border with North Macedonia?
After a 2-hour drive, we'll stop in the village of Lin, located on a peninsula bathed by the turquoise waters of Lake Ohrid, one of the deepest lakes in Europe. There, we'll begin to learn about its importance and climb to the highest part of Lin, where we'll find a set of Byzantine mosaics that still retain their original beauty and details. The best part, the views from there are breathtaking!
Our journey continues along Lake Ohrid as we arrive at Drilon, a natural park where we'll walk among willows and bridges. Did you know that this refuge has been a source of inspiration for some Albanian poets and artists?
From here, we'll head to Pogradec, where you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to enjoy the local cuisine at any of the nearby restaurants. Be sure to try typical dishes like belushka, a classic fish dish, tavë koran, a traditional casserole made with trout from Lake Ohrid, or lakror, a pancake-style dish with vegetables, meats, and cheese.
Finally, we'll begin our return journey to Tirana, where we'll arrive at the starting point 8 to 9 hours later.
