Description

Get ready for an unforgettable private tour of the temples of Yogyakarta! We'll pick you up from your hotel at the designated time and embark on a journey to explore the mesmerizing Hindu and Buddhist shrines in this historic city on the island of Java.

First, we'll stop at the remarkable Sambisari temple, a 9th-century Hindu marvel hidden in the village of Sambisari. Unearthed by a farmer in 1966, this architectural gem was buried more than 5 meters underground. Prepare to be amazed by its rich history!

Next, we'll visit the enchanting Sari temple, situated 3 km (about 2 miles) from Kalasan. Dating back to the 8th century, these ancient structures hold intriguing secrets waiting to be revealed. We'll uncover the meaning behind its name and share fascinating tidbits along the way.

We'll then take a break to have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor the tantalizing flavors of the region.

Our next destination is the awe-inspiring Plaosan Temple, also known as the Plaosan Complex. Prepare to be enchanted by one of Java's most exquisite Buddhist sanctuaries, boasting 116 stupas and 58 shrines.

And, of course, we can't miss the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunset at the Ijo temple, the highest temple in Yogyakarta. This temple was constructed between the 10th and 11th centuries during the reign of the Mataram Kingdom.

Finally, after an unforgettable 9-hour journey, we'll take you back to your accommodation in Yogyakarta.
